This research project examines what happens to language in onward migration within a linguistic community, more specifically when people who have previously immigrated to Sweden move on to Swedish-speaking Finland. The focus is on the linguistic repertoires and linguistic biographies of the migrants, which are studied through linguistic ethnography and language portraits. In addition, the causes and consequences of these current migration patterns are analyzed.
