Introduction
My current research work involves my PhD dissertation that tackles the legal rights and access to justice for older immigrants and immigrants living with dementia in Finland from a socio-legal perspective. The empirical research employs semi-structured interviews with older immigrants and professionals who offer services to them. The research aims to investigate access to justice barriers for older immigrants and immigrants with dementia, as well as their experiences of social exclusion.
In general, my research interests focus on human rights, the rights of vulnerable people, and equality. For example, I studied the effects of laws and social habitus on the vulnerable people’s lives and wellbeing. Some of my previous research involved refugees, stateless people, and victims of female genital mutilation.
