Are you currently working on a Master’s thesis or PhD Dissertation on a topic related to Finns in North America? Would you like to network with others doing related work? Would you like tips on new research and resources? Would you like feedback and support from leading scholars in the field?
If so, apply to participate in the 1-day workshop being held in person on Friday, November 28, 2025 at the Migration Institute of Finland in Turku.
Participants will pre-circulate short 2-3 page overviews of their research project, including research topic, questions, sources, and potential challenges (in English or Finnish). At the workshop, each participant will have a dedicated time slot for discussing their project and getting feedback from colleagues.
Participants are invited to come to the Migration Institute already on the afternoon of Thursday, November 27, to attend the final seminar of the “Deep Mapping the ‘Uncharted Territories’ of Finnish Migration” project, followed by an informal get-together for workshop attendees (more info TBA).
The workshop is free for accepted participants and some travel funding is available.
Applications can be submitted until October 15: https://q.surveypal.com/tyopajakutsu-workshopcfp-Finn-NAMS
