The Migration Institute of Finland is entitled to accept donations and testamentary inheritance from Finland and abroad according to its rules.
The institute has invested its previous donations in its funds that are used to annually support research, documentation and conference activities related to Finnish migration flows and migration in general.
The archives also accept different material donations to be preserved for future generations. These include, for example:
- archives of expatriate organisations
- private letters
- diaries
- photographs
- interview recordings
- small everyday objects
