Consortium project director: Professor Allan Krasnik (University of Copenhagen)
Project director in Finland: Research Manager Elli Heikkilä
Project objective:
The project examines, in particular on the basis of register materials, how the socio-economic and ethnic health inequalities between children and young people who have come to the Nordic countries as refugees since 1990 are interrelated and affect their education and integration into the labour market as young adults in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. The qualitative sub-study examines the transition of young refugees aged 18 to 30 who have arrived in Finland before the age of majority from different educational institutions to the labour market. In addition, we examine the experiences of employers in the employment of refugees.
